Request or Reserve Materials

The requested documents are provided for use if there has been:

 

Reserving books

Reasons for refusal of request/reservation

If you experience any difficulties while making a request, please contact the consulting librarian.

Electronic request for an item in the main stock may be made through:

1. the electronic catalog

2. the digital versions of the card catalog

Requesting materials from the electronic catalog

1. Find the necessary document in the electronic catalog.

2. Press the “Request” button in the top right part of the screen and carefully fill in all the forms.

  • A request may be made at any time and from any place with computer and Internet access.
  • The request is fulfilled in 90 minutes from 9 am to 7 pm. Requests that come after 6 pm on Saturday, Sunday, a holiday, or on cleaning days are fulfilled the next working day.
  • The materials requested are stored in their department for 5 days for the reader to borrow.

Information about requested and reserved books is shown in the Personal Account in the “Requests” tab. Please note that requests for journals and magazines are not shown in the Personal Account.

Requesting materials from the digital versions of the card catalog

1. Find the necessary document in the digital version of card catalogue.

2. Press the “Request” button in the top right part of the screen and carefully fill in all the forms.

3. Press the “Request” button under the card.

4. To request multiple items, you can use the shopping cart (top right of the screen). To do so, press the “Plus” button under the card.

  • A request can be made at any time and from anyplace with computer and Internet access.
  • The request is fulfilled within 3 hours from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. Requests that come after 4 p.m., on Saturday, Sunday, a holiday, or on cleaning days are fulfilled the next working day.
  • Requested materials are stored at the Circulation Desk for 5 days for the reader to borrow.
  • Requests from card catalogs are not shown in the Personal Account.

 

Reserving books in the electronic catalog

- Electronic request for a book that is currently checked out to another reader is automatically moved into a queue (reserved).

- Information about reserved books is shown in the electronic catalog (Personal Account, “Requests” tab).

-After being returned, the book is kept in its department for 7 days (Circulation Desk or Professors Reading Room) under the name of the reader who reserved the book.

- Notification about the availability of the book is emailed. To receive such notifications, you need to leave your email at the Reader Registration Service or at the Circulation Desk. You can also change or add your contact information in the Personal Account (“Contacts” tab).

 

Possible reasons for refusal of requesting/reserving

  • Your Reader Card has expired.
  • You have a debt at the Circulation Desk.
  • You have more than 20 requests for books and periodicals.
