Language clubs of the International Resource Center resume
The language clubs of the International Resource Center proceed in the spring semester both in live and distant formats.
Master students, postgraduates, and TSU teaching staff members have a chance to improve their English language skills in a live format every Tuesday at 18:30. Traditionally, the meetings take place in the International Resource Center. The number of participants is limited due to the requirement of observing social distancing, which is why advance registration is needed.
Meetings of the English speaking club in an online format are held every Friday and are available to everybody. To get a link for participation, advance registration is required.
The topics for discussion within the English speaking clubs are announced on the day of the event or the day before it on IRC social network sites, and the participants can decide beforehand whether a particular topic is interesting for them or not.
Those who prefer individual speaking practice can join online one-to-one English conversation with Rhoda every Monday at 17:00 in Zoom. Every participant has a chance to talk to Rhoda for 20 minutes on any topic he/she is interested in. Advance registration is required.
Starting from February 17, the participants of the online Spanish speaking club will resume their captivating adventure into the world of Spain with the club’s moderators – Sharon and Alejandra. The meetings will be held all through the spring semester once a fortnight on Wednesdays at 17:00.
The meetings of the French speaking club will be held once a month in a live format. Prior registration is required. The upcoming meeting will be held on February 24 at 18:30. The topics will be announced the day before the event. Traditionally, the club is moderated by Mohamed Bouizem. Everyone with any reference level can attend the meetings of the club.
The format of the monthly German speaking club will depend on the epidemiological situation. The first meeting that will be moderated by Liudmila Kovalchuk, a translator and interpreter, will be held online on February 26 at 19:30 (15:30 MSK). The participants will share their travel experiences and discuss how to cope with the longing for adventures and new trips during this rough time.
We wish you productive meetings and engaging conversations in all languages!
