Item check out: For how long can I borrow the books from the Library?

Information about-the loan period is shown in the electronic catalogue under “Item class”. Items of the same name can have different loan period.

Information about books that are checked out for use at home (title, loan period, number of renewals, etc.) is shown in the User’s Account in the “Borrowed” tab.

  These items are checked out for in-library use only:

  • Periodicals;
  • Theses and abstracts;
  • Reference literature;
  • CDs and DVDs.


Item renewal: How many times and for how long can I renew the books borrowed from the Research Library?

How can I renew a book?

To renew books, please visit the Circulation Desk in person, call  (+73822) 52-98-07 or use Personal Account in the electronic catalogue.

Terms of renewal

    1 week Two 1-week period
    1 month Three 1-month periods
    6 months One 6-month period
    1 year None


Renewal is not possible if:

  • an item was not checked in on its due date;
  • the limit of renewals for a particular item has been reached;
  • an item has been requested by other readers;
  • a reader has unpaid fines for overdue items.


Readers who have not checked in or renewed items in time will not be able to:

  • use the electronic request service;
  • renew other borrowed books by means of the electronic catalogue (through Personal Account);
  • use licensed full-text databases outside of TSU network and closed resources of the electronic library of TSU.
